Bruxism treatment

Bruxism treatment

Bruising is now a fairly common problem facing a growing segment of the population, mainly due to increased stress levels. Gnashing or clenching of the teeth is a dysfunctional habit in which the patient bites or grinds his teeth hard, especially during sleep but also during the day sometimes. Although a large percentage of the population suffers from bruxism, patients often do not realize it.

Causes
The cause of the phenomenon is not completely known. However, it seems that the main trigger is stress, which makes bruxism an extremely modern and common problem. Among other things, bruxism can be associated with problems with tooth closure such as malformed fillings and prosthetic work, orthodontic problems and often occurs in the context of sleep disorders (sleep apnea).
Symptoms
The main symptoms of brucellosis patients are severe muscle tenderness associated with chewing, dull morning headaches, decreased mouth opening, characteristic sounds and pain in the function of the temporomandibular joint (CGD) which is often reflected in the and neck.
Impact
The effects of bruxism include damage to otherwise healthy dental tissue of small (abrasion) or greater extent (tooth fractures), deterioration of dental work (cavities, dentures, fillings), worsening of gum problems, increased tooth mobility and cold , injuries to the tongue and cheeks, development of severe arthritis and arthralgia.
Diagnosis
The diagnosis and the beginning of the correct treatment of the wart begins with a visit to the dentist. The dentist as the most competent, after taking a detailed medical and dental history, will thoroughly examine the patient's mouth and CGD to determine any sensitivity to the palpation of the masticatory muscles, points on the teeth and periodontal tissues that indicate bruxism.
Treatment
The main treatment for bruising is the construction of a stabilization splint. It is an intraoral orthopedic device that is applied to the teeth of the upper or lower jaw, is quickly tolerated and is used mainly at night for a period of a few weeks or months depending on the type and intensity of the discomfort. The splint ensures the even distribution of forces on the teeth and the relaxation of the muscles of the area as it directs the lower jaw to a more correct position within the joint, reducing its burden.
